Nature Skills

Nature Skills extends your AI assistant with the ability to a Claude Code and Codex skill pack for Nature-style academic writing and scientific figure generation. It helps researchers polish paper language, structure explanations, and produce publication-oriented research visuals instead of generic AI prose. Rather than leaving your conversation to handle this manually, you can ask your Claude Code agent directly — and it will take care of the task end-to-end, using Nature Skills as its underlying capability.

Nature Skills works across Claude Code, Codex CLI through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — an open standard that lets AI clients share tools and skills without lock-in. This makes it especially practical for teams and individuals working with academic-writing and research. Because MCP is platform-agnostic by design, you install Nature Skills once and it becomes available across all your AI clients. Whether you're working in Claude Code for focused sessions or Codex CLI for integrated workflows, the skill behaves consistently.

Getting started with Nature Skills takes about two minutes. Place the skill at `~/.claude/skills/nature-skills/` (personal, all projects) or `.claude/skills/nature-skills/` (project-specific), then restart your AI client. From that point, typing `/nature-skills` in any conversation activates it, or the AI will use it on its own when it detects a relevant request.

Nature Skills is a community-contributed Documents & Notes skill available through DiscoverAISkills. The source code is open on GitHub — you can inspect it, contribute fixes, or fork it to adapt the skill for your specific setup. Like all skills on DiscoverAISkills, it is free to install and use.
